If you are an advertising sales professional in Florida and you sell direct mail, newspaper, magazine, TV, commercial print, radio, digital or specialty advertising products, you are invited to participate in biweekly Zoom meetings hosted by the Florida Media Association. We have created this open and free seminar series to help you increase your – and your customers’ – businesses. If you aren’t currently a member of the association, send your contact information to the Executive Director to be added to the invitation list.

November 11 at 4:00 p.m. – City Anniversary Milestone

Join us as Val Harring and Ray Eckenrode walk us through the highly successful City Anniversary Milestone book they put together to celebrate the City of Cape Coral’s 50th anniversary. They will take us from concept to completion, including how they successfully monetized the project. You don’t want to miss it!

July 22 – Masked Marketing:  How to Approach New Business in Person While Looking Like a Bank Robber

Jill Kalber of Tampa Bay Newspapers presented, “Masked Marketing: How to Approach New Business in Person While Looking Like a Bank Robber.” How do you project “warm and fuzzy” while wearing a mask? Since we can’t show our smiles, what can we do to win over new advertisers as we walk in the door for the first time? How can we show a personal touch in these days when we all feel so impersonal?

July 15 – No Contract Bundle

Terri Williamson of the Laker/Lutz News presented her idea, a “NO CONTRACT” angle, bundled with another common objection … social media. Advertisers are leery to commit to anything long term, so “NO CONTRACT” takes that fear away. Terri’s idea of combining “NO CONTRACT” with a print buy and social media package is working! 

July 8 – Local Readership Survey

Tim Bingaman from CVC taught us how to design a free local survey of our readership. Wouldn’t you like to know EXACTLY what your readers are planning to buy so you can share that documented, verified information with your advertisers? 

July 1 – Leveraging Community Engagement

The right engagement equals revenue, if it’s done right! So this week’s call focused on:
